Women are retiring on far less income than men

Women still retire on much less income than men. But the gap has narrowed since its significant increase following the 2008 financial crisis.

In 2009 the retirement income of women was 67 per cent that of men, but this year it stands close to 75 per cent.

The average annual retirement income of women in Britain is now about £14,000 compared to £19,000 for men.
