Stealing Sheep

Not Real

(Heavenly Recordings)

Merseyside trio Stealing Sheep follow up their fine debut Into the Diamond Sun with another impressive album, Not Real.

They remain adept at reactivating classic psychedelia, as on the exotically atmospheric "Greed", which ends with an iridescent Moog synthesiser solo. But there is a greater palette of effects than before.

Electronic instruments bring the pastoral, folky side of their music into the computer age, while songs shimmy away from the campfire towards the dance floor, as with the delightfully catchy "Deadlock".
