Interactive: UK political donations

The Electoral Commission keeps a record of every donation to Britain's political parties above £7,500. Although nominally transparent, the records are enormously difficult to use: the only unique identifier for each donor is their name.

This is further complicated by the inconsistent use of titles and initials as well as addresses attached to the names of businesses and organisations.

The FT has cleaned this data to allow for each individual's donation to be seen as a whole and made it easy to explore in the interactive below. Donations to individual members of parliament are included in their party's totals.
