My First Ballet: Swan Lake, Peacock Theatre, London, then touring

If there are children in your charge, busily poring over computers and other electronic devices, you may encourage an outside interest with a visit to English National Ballet's educational programme, which introduces the young to Swan Lake. There are also resources available to make the story more accessible to children with learning difficulties and disabilities. The performers are from ENB and its School. Touring throughout April and May.

Northern Ballet, Various venues, touring

Northern Ballet is also touring a programme for young audiences during the next three months. Elves & The Shoemaker by Daniel de Andrade is intended for children (from age three), is light-hearted, and lasts for just 40 minutes. Grown-up ballet-goers might well try to get seats also. This fairytale will be on show at matinees or in the early evening, in many theatres from Stirling to Aylesbury, with two performances in Covent Garden's Linbury Theatre.
